What will be the work profile of IES Mechanical Officer in Various fields? What is the format of interview? What type of questions do we have to face?


What will be the work profile of IES mechanical officer in various fields such as railway engg.,water engg.,power engg.,Ordnance Factories Service,Naval Armament Service, etc.?
& what is the format of interview?means what type of questions we have to face there?

Candidate IES(Indian Engineering Services) has a great scope here below are details regarding IES services:-

Job Profile for Mechanical Engineering:-

1). Indian inspection services.

2). Executive engineer in geological survey services.

3). Indian railway services mechanical engineering.

4). Indian defense services engineer.

5). Indian railway store services.

6). Central mechanical and electrical engineering services.

7). Central water engineering services.

8). Central power engineering services.

9). Indian ordinance factories services.

10). Indian naval armament services.

Eligibility for IES:-

>> Applying candidate must be Indian citizen.

>> Age limit to apply for general category candidate is 21 to 30 years. For candidate belongs to SC/ST category relaxation of 5 years in age limit. For candidates come under OBC category relaxation of 3 years in age limit.

>> Candidate must have completed engineering degree in mechanical from govt. approved institute.

Selection procedure for IES:- Three steps of selection procedure:-

1). Preliminary exam:- Candidate must have to clear preliminary exam to appear in main exam. Preliminary exam is based on General studied of engineering aptitude, Engineering specific discipline. Preliminary exam carries 500 marks.

2). Main exam:- Exam is comprises of two papers on engineering subjects. Main exam carries 600 marks.

3). Interview and document verification:-

>> Candidate two clear in first two selection steps that is preliminary exam and main exam is called for interview. Interview carries 200 marks.

>> In interview general questions are asked about current affairs or may be related to your qualification.

>> After interview candidates document are verified for genuine.
