The basic eligibility criterion to pursue BCA course is a pass in 12th class. You should score an aggregate of 50% in the 12th class. You should have taken mathematics as the main subject in the 12th class level. There are many reputed colleges in the country which offer BCA courses. Some of the colleges are Garden City College, Bangalore, M S Ramaiah Junior & Degree College, Bangalore, Amity School of Computer Science, Noida, Apeejay Institute of Management & Information Technology, New Delhi etc.

BCA stands for Bachelor's of Computer Application. It is a three year professional graduation degree course. It is good to do MCA after BCA, because the starting salary of a BCA graduate will be 10,000 to 12,000, whereas an MCA graduate can earn 20,000 to 25,000 at the starting. Eligibility criteria: The minimum educational qualification required to get admission in BCA is a pass in 12th with at least 50% marks. Most of the colleges need either maths or computer as one of the subjects in 12th and also English as a compulsory subject. Some colleges conducts their own entrance exam while some seeks admission on the basis of merit. Fee structure: The fee structure for BCA varies depending upon college. If you want to do it from a private college then the 3 year course will take 1,50,000 approx. and if you want to do it from a govt. college, then the total fee structure for 3 years will be around 75,000.. you must have qualified Higher Secondary level of examination from recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks. Must have Mathematics as a major subject in the Higher Secondary level.

The individual’s must be a citizen of India. Also preference is given to those who are residents of the state. Some institute do keep an age limit of 17 years. ♦♦ Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Students for BCA Course : Valid passport is a must. Also they must possess a student visa. Some of the institutes like Vellore University, IGNOU do intake candidates of foreign origin. ♦♦ Academic Eligibility Criteria for BCA Course : _______• Candidate must have completed Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent. _______• The minimum marks secured in 12th standard should be at least 50%. _______• The candidate should have pursued the science subjects. The science subjects should include Physics and Chemistry. _______• Most institutes insist candidates should have pursued Mathematics during 12th standard. • New eligibility criteria’s are decided by the universities so as to improve the quality of the students inducted. As part of it many of the institutes are insisting that the candidates should posses a Certificate in Computing.
