What is the eligibility criteria followed to do Genetic Engineering?
1. I want to pursue the course on genetic engineering after 12th standard.
2. What are the eligibility criteria in getting admission in the top colleges in India for the course? 3.The duration of the course for graduate and post graduate ? 4. The scope in getting a job after completion of the course for graduate and post graduate. |

Eligibility Criteria to get admission to do Genetic Engineering:
1) Candidates must have obtained "10+2" or its equivalent examination, with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as well as Genetics as a part of the Biology subject. 2) (Or) Candidates must have passed "Bachelor's Degree in Science or Molecular Biology". You can do Genetic Engineering only if you meet the first point (1) as mentioned above. Otherwise you cannot go for Genetic Engineering. Graduate Course: B.E/ B.Tech (04 year course) Post Graduate Course: M.E/ M.Tech (02 year course) Scope of Genetic Engineering: There is very good scope for Genetic Engineers as there is difficulty in course. Of course there is an increasing demand for Genetic graduates. You may find employment in Agricultural Industries, Pharmaceutical Industries, Medical Organizations, R&D (Research and Development) departments. The starting salary for Genetic Engineers graduates and postgraduates ranges between Rs.8000/- to 14000/- per month. |
