My son is studying in Andhra Pradesh and one and half year in Maharashtra. He completed his 12th class in Chaitanya Institute. Myself and my wife are belongs to Karnataka and studied in Karnataka. We are in AP only for job purpose. He wrote KCET this year. Whether some seats are reserved for Horanadu Kannadiga as he wrote Kannada exam also.

Following are the list of categories for the reservation of KCET seats :

1. Rural Candidates 15% of Govt. seats

2. Kannada Medium 5% of Govt. seats

3. Jammu and Kashmir 1 seat in every college

4. Defence personnel of Karnataka region 10% seats in all Engineering colleges

5. Supernumerary category 5% seats in all Engineering colleges

6. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC category as per the Govt. norms.

So, yes 5% seats are reserved for the Kannada medium student that means those who have passed class 1-10 under Kannada medium.

I was born and brought up in Mangalore until I finished my Class 10 in Karnataka. Now I live in Mumbai. Will my son be eligible for admission to a Medical College in Karnataka under the Horanadu Quota?
And what percentage of seats are reserved in this category?
