Dear Sir,
I want to know followings :
1) What is year gap.
2) Is year gap a problem for XAT exam.
3) If, Yes what is the solution.

year gap means taking a year out of studying.
we commonly call it long term.
it is not a problem for xat exam.

A year gap can be in any thing in studies,in job searching etc.A gap year is a perfect opportunity to take some time for yourself, but to use your time to serve others as well,if you have take it then utilize in a proper way.No year gap is not a problem in appearing for XAT exam,you can appear in it.

year gap is never considered as bad because either it is done due to financial problems ......or to enter a vey good college....
it is not a problem for XAT exam....and is not significant during placements also

Siddhartha , listen to me there nothing like this a year gap and more for any mba entrance exam . ok ,you can appear in any mba entrance until you are upto 29 years old .There is only age limitation not year 's gap. best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A year gap means you have give up studies for a year or a long time,due to some problems or else.

If you are well in studies year gap will be not obstackle in way to XAT,but if you are not so good in studies then probably it will be a hinderance.

year gap doesn't matters in giving exam .....

you will have to answer it at the time of placement

no matters at all just qualify with a nice percentile ...and secure good colleges.

if you may get good percentage in xat exam, then no problem is for year gap , i think so, just study well.

no its not a problem most of the people take a year long exam before appearing in any exam so that they get some time to prepare for the exam you can surely go for it if you feel it is required

Year gap is to take one year extra for exam preparation and there is no problem for XAT exam.....

Dear friend year gap is not a problem for appear in XAT exam, but you can face problem at the time of your campus selection. because year gap means you stop your study for some year & do some other work except study, which indicate bad impression of yours in front of HR of any company.
so, be careful.

there is no matter if you have year gap for XAT exam
only after completion of MBA while appearing the interview for campusing ,interviewer will ask about your year gap.

Is year gap should not be more then 2 years because one year can be considered but more then that will not be considered for the rest of the exam.

So you must not be more then 2 years of gaps in the XAT exams.All the best..

can anyone clarify my doubts.i am an mba aspirant.i have passed out my btech in 2008.i m goin to write cat this year.i dont have any work experience also.will these year gaps matter while getting admission in a gud b-school?if i score above 90 percetile will there be any chance of getting admission in a gud b-school?please reply soon

The gap is not so factor you will not face in XAT exam,
If you are well in studies year gap will be not obstracle in way to XAT,
but you may face problem in campus selection.
