Can i participate in government job exams as i have crossed above 30 years? Should come under general catagory. Have master in computer and currently working for Private concern. So, can I still go ahead and prepare for government exams?

You can only apply for government exams if you are from reserved category. As upper age limit in most of the government exams is 30 years.
Also there is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category candidates as per government norms.
For OBC : 3 years
For SC/ST : 5 years
For Physically handicapped : 10 years

If you comes under any of these categories, then you can apply for government job.

Yes, you can apply for the goverment job after crossing 30 years of age if you are obc or sc/st candidate .if you are oc you cannot apply because
Goverment job age limit for general is 21 to 30 years for most of jobs. But, for obc relaxation 3years,
sc/st relaxation 5years.

There are only a few government jobs for which you can apply if you are above 30 years of age. Some of them are specialist officers post if you have experience for IBPS and SBI exams. This post have age limit of 35 years and you must have experience in given field.

You can also apply for government lecturer job after qualifying exams like NET/SET. Lecturer posts have higher age limit than other government jobs. Same is for school teaching job but you must have B Ed for that job.

Your age is over 30 years old so you are eligible for government sector jobs like Assistant teacher of high school through TET exam.

Eligibility criteria for TET exam:-

1)Those candidates who have completed graduation degree are eligible for TET exam.

2)Your age should be below 40 years.

For most of the government jobs the age limit is from 21 to 30 years.
For OBC and sc/st candidates the maximum age relaxation is 3 years and 5 years respectively.
As you have masters in computer science you have lot of private job opportunities.
