Many of the forensic scientists work in the government sectors like CID, CBI or IB departments.
The significant growth in the crime rate and criminals made the role of forensic scientists increased exponentially and India is facing the acute shortage of Criminal Officers who can help courts in deciding the criminal cases. As most of the jobs are in government sector, salaries are strictly based on structure and pay scale. Moreover those who have post graduate qualification course in forensic science earn very high salaries. Private laboratories offer handsome salaries to the experienced candidates. Generally, the Crime Investigation Officer deals with the cases which were unable to solve by the police officers. To become CID officer the candidate should have below mentioned eligibility criteria : ELIGIBILITY : * Candidate should be citizen of India. * Candidate should have passed bachelor's degree in any stream from any recognized university. * Candidates age should be in the range of 21-30 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per norms. The candidate should write the Indian Civil Services examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). SELECTION PROCEDURE : * Written examination. * Medical Test. * Personal Interview. |
