I am a b.tech final year student from IT branch.
Please tell me about the procedure to join CBI or CID.

Crime Branch CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is a specialised wing in many state police forces in India of their Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Other branches of the CID are
State Crime Investigation Bureau
Finger Print Bureau
and Scientific Section.


To join in CID you need to write the EXAM conducted by UPSC...!!

for that you need to have good physical strength also like any armed force..

time to time there vacancy come for intelligence bureau to can search for that and apply to it.

graduation in any of the disipline with minimum 60% marks.
minimum age 21 year and maximum 28 year.
There is different stages like the
1)written exams
2)group discussion
3)personal interview

Eligibility Criteria:-To join CBI you need to appear for CGPE exam i.e. Combined Graduate preliminary Exam which is conducted by SSC board every year.

QUALIFICATION: Minimum Qualification is Graduation in any Discipline.

AGE: You should be in between 20 to 27 years of Age. & special Relaxation is given to SC/ST which is 5 years and For OBC 3 years.

CBI conducts exam for the agent post as a direct recruitment. It's not manually but on vacancy requirement the exam conducted by CBI.

For senior posts in CBI, UPSC and SSC, Conducts exam.
Eligibility-*graduate from affiliated university with min. Aggregate 55% in any stream.
