Detailed information about SBI PO examination?
Hi all,
Can anyone give me a detailed information about SBI PO Exams that are conducted by SBI. Like what are the dates, selection criteria, toughness. Also guide me as to how should I be planning my preparation schedule and what all needs to be emphasised upon to clear the examination. |

The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts an exam for recruitment to the post of Probationary Officers (PO) every year when there are vacancies in the bank branches.
Eligibility for SBI PO Exam :- 1.Educational Qualification :- You must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university to be eligible to appear for the SBI PO exam. Final year students are also eligible to appear for the SBI PO exam. 2.Age Limit :- You must be in between 21-30 years as on 01-04-2015 for the June 2015 exam. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and is of 5 years for SC/ST candidates is applicable as per the government rules. SBI PO Exam Pattern :- The exam duration is of 3 hours and the exam pattern is as follows:- 1.Objective Test 2.Descriptive Test 1.Objective Test :- There are four sections in the objective test for each of 50 marks and the total of 200 marks for four sections. 1.English Language :- 50 marks 2.General Awareness, Marketing and Computer Awareness :- 50 marks 3.Data Analysis and Interpretations :- 50 marks 4.Reasoning :- 50 marks Descriptive Test :- 2.The Descriptive test duration is of 1 hour and the exam will be conducted for a maximum of 50 marks for descriptive test. 1.English Language (Comprehension, Short Precis, Letter Writing and Essay) :- 50 marks Selection Process :- The selection process of SBI PO consists of 3 successive stages :- 1.Objective (online)and Descriptive (paper-based) examination. 2.Group Discussion and Personal Interview of 20 and 30 marks respectively. 3.Final selection based on a total of 100 marks taken from both objective and descriptive tests and the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. |

The minimum educational qualification required to apply for SBI(State Bank of India) Probationary officer post is Graduation in any stream with atleast 60% of marks in aggregate from UGC recognised college or university.Age limit to apply for SBI PO examination is 21-30 years for General category, 21-33 years for OBC category, 21-35 years for Ex-servicemen and SC/ST candidates, 10 years for PWD candidates.The selection procedure of SBI PO post is preliminary exam,main examination,group discussion and personal interview.Preliminary exam is of qualifying nature only to shortlist the candidates for main exam and main examination is conducted in 5 sections : Quantitative aptitude,Reasoning ability,English language knowledge,General awareness and current affairs,Computer knowledge.And the candidates who got shortlisted in main exam are allowed for group discussion and personal interview.For further information please visit www.sbi.co.in
