Yes, definitely IBPS recruits for both Government as well as Private Banks.

The IBPS recruitment mainly focuses on 4 categories, they are:-

Public Sector banks
Private Sector banks
Co-Operative Banks
Regional and Rural Banks

Candidates who are interested to work in government banks have to appear for IBPS examination. Private banks does not recruit candidates through IBPS examination. Private banks conduct their own examination to select the eligible candidates. So, through IBPS you can get a job in government banks.

IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is the board which is responsible for recruitment of officer, clerk and other relevant posts in various nationalised banks except SBI because SBI has its own examination and recruitment process.

One more thing IBPS conduct recruitment process only for banks owned by govt. of India not private banks that is why recruitment in private banks is as per their HR department so you must prepare for IBPS exam only for govt. job.

If you want to know about the bank that which bank you will get after clearing the exam then you must know that there are few conditions in selection process for various posts of IBPS exams and this recruitment depends on following standards :

01. Marks secured in Mains examination : A candidate qualifying mains examination of IBPS will get marks and ranking as per marks secured in exam then he/she will be prepared in merit list as per marks secured by the candidates in the exam and if qualified with minimum marks requirement then will be listed in selected candidates.

02. Priority of Banks Given by the candidate: When the candidate fill up the form then he/she prefers various banks that if the candidate qualifies the exam then which bank she/he will like to service in that is why priority also matters in this case.

03. Availability of vacancies in the banks given priority : If a candidate has given priority of any bank but his/her marks are shorter than that of required and no. of vacancies are filled up by the candidates secured higher marks then candidate may be selected for another bank.

But the only thing matters is the marks secured in mains exam and interview that is why you should prepare for mains exam very well then only you can have the bank of your choice so everything depends on your hardwork because if marks are less and priority of banks is higher then you can have job in other small banks.

Private sector banks have their own recruitment process that is why IBPS is not responsible for recruitment in any private sector banks so if you want job in private banks then keep visiting at the official website and check if there is any recruitment.

IBPS is Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection.

It conducts common written examination for recruitment to post of Clerk and Probationary officer for more than twenty public sector banks.

IBPS does not conduct entrance exam for private bank. After clearing all stages of IBPS, you can get job in banks like BOB, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of India, Central bank, Syndicate bank etc.

No, Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection does not conduct Common written examination for recruitment to private sector banks. The common written examination conducted by it for selection of candidates into public sector banks.

SBI conducts its own entrance exam for Clerk and Probationary officer. Through IBPS CWE, you can get into banks like:

>>Bank of Baroda.

>>Indian Bank.

>>Central Bank of India.

>>Syndicate Bank.

>>Canara Bank etc.

IBPS refers to Institute of Banking Personnel Selection and same is a body that conducts different bank examinations for recruitment of personnel at various post across the nationalized banks of India ( except SBI ).

So, if you appear in IBPS bank examination and clear it then you will be eligible for recruitment across the nationalized banks of India not any in private bank or SBI.

For more details regarding IBPS bank examination, you can refer to the link www.ibps.in.

Basically IBPS is an autonomous body which mainly helps banks in recruiting candidates who meet all the required criteria by conducting online computer based examination/interview etc.
So, they focus only on conducting exam for government sector banks only except SBI , not for any private sector banks.

Rajeev Rishi is the present chairman of IBPS.

Candidate who clears IBPS exams and other required rounds then he will be placed only in the public sector bank according to the score and merit but not in the private sector banks.

For any more details regarding IBPS please visit the official website www.ibps.in

Dear Aspirant,

IBPS does not recruit personnels for the private banks , In the IBPS website itself mentioned about the participating banks that are recruiting through the IBPS exam.

Private Banks conduct their own exam separately, SBI (Public Sector bank) but conducts its own exam to hire the employees.

Regional and Rural Banks (Public Sector) also conducts separate exam to recruit the employees.

I hope this has cleared your doubt

Thank You
