Pay scale for Sub-inspector in Government Jobs
Career in Police is not that easy as most of us think since this career requires strong self-control, physical fitness and self-discipline during difficult situations. Increased revenue of government in a strong global economy and growing concerns over the quality of life particularly with crime, the police department is short of qualified candidates and this in turn has increased the demand for appropriate candidates in this department.
Among the different position in police department, a candidate coming under the position of Sub-inspector is a non-gazetted police officer and this candidate is offered a pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 plus a grade pay of Rs.4600.

Recently, the following government organizations called for applications from eligible candidates for the post of sub-inspector in police department:
• Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force
• Rajasthan Public Service Commission
• General Border Security Force
• Central Reserve Police Force
• Delhi Police Department
Eligibility requirement for participating in Sub-inspector position recruitment:
Candidates, who are interested in joining as Sub-inspector in police force must have completed their Bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized university in India. In addition, the candidates must be between the age group of 20 to 25 years to sit for the state/central level examination conducted for recruitment of candidates to the police force.
Medical fitness:
As far as medical fitness is concerned, candidates should fulfill the following eligibility requirement for the position of sub-inspector:
• Candidates must be physically and mentally fit and they should be free from any physical defects that can interrupt in effective performance of duties
• Candidates must not have squint in eyes, varicose vein, flat foot and knock-knee
• Candidates should have a vision capability of 6/6 in master eye and 6/9 on the other eye without wearing correction glasses
• Candidates must possess high color vision
Written Test:
Normally, written test for recruitment of candidates for police department is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission and the candidates are posted across any location in India. As far as Sub-inspector position is concerned, a separate examination called as S.I. Police Combined Competitive Examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates.
