sir,I am doing Architecture diploma(3 years) in kerala,at ernamkulam.can i join to 2nd year B.arch after this course?most of the branches have lateral entry,but B.arch have no lateral entry,why is lateral entry denied for B.arch?

No, it is not possible to take admission in second year of B.Arch course through Lateral Entry process after completing the Diploma course. The Lateral Entry procedure for getting an admission in the undergraduate courses is valid for only B.E/B.Tech courses.

If you are interested to do B.Arch course, then you need to study the entire course starting from the first year to final year because there is no Lateral Entry procedure for getting admissions in the B.Arch course. If you think that your one year will be wasted by studying the B.Arch first year, then you can do B.E/B.Tech course by appearing for the Lateral Entry test and by qualifying the exam you can get admission in the second year of the B.E/B.Tech course.

So, we can say that admission in second year of B.Arch is not possible through Lateral Entry exam, even after completion of the Diploma in Architecture. Lateral Entry exam is only applicable for getting an admission in the second year of the B.E/B.Tech courses.
