Hello Sir,
I have got 57956 rank in JEE Main and I belong to Assam. I want to study B.Tech in my own state. But my interest is in Mechanical Engineering. Can I know with this rank I can get admission for Mechanical Engineering?

Your rank is too high to get admission in any engineering college of Assam for pursuing Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. You can not get admission in any college.

JEE will be conducted in 2017 again and you can appear for this exam with better preparation to score good marks in this exam and hence secure a seat in engineering college in your state.

At present, you can take admission in private engineering college in Assam under management quota seats based on PCM percentage of marks.

With this rank you can get admission only in a private college in Assam. Chances of a top private college is also very less.
Hence, if you want admission in a private engineering college then this rank will surely get you admission through counselling.

I am sorry to say you that with the above mentioned rank which you scored, it is very difficult to get admission under Mechanical Engineering in your state based on your performance. If you appeared in some other Entrance examinations also, then you must try on the basis of that performance, otherwise you must wait for the next year. Study well and try to score well next year.
