Can anybody with an M.Sc degree in Zoology appear for NET examination in Anthropology? Please help. Thanks.

No, M.Sc in Zoology candidates are not appear for UGC NET exam in Anthropology.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted twice time in year by UGC.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Age criteria for NET exam:-

For JRF Post :-Your age should be below 28 years.

For Lectureship Post :-There is no age criteria.

No, you can't appear for anthropology subject because it is a specialised field. You will be only eligible for Zoology which is your subject in the post graduation.

Hence, if you want to appear for anthropology subjects then you need to do post graduation in the same subject.

Yes, of course you are eligible to apply for the UGC NET exam in Anthropology after completing a Master Degree in Zoology. Anthropology is related to Science specialization so you can apply for the UGC NET exam in Anthropology. However, you are required to score more than 55% of marks at the Master Degree level and 5% of marks relaxation applicable for reserved category students. The applicant age should be not more than 28 years in JRF post and there is no minimum age limit for Lectureship post.
