TNEA i.e Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission is conducted by Anna University Once in a year for admission into B.E/B.Tech courses. 2014 TNEA Notification has been already released and last date for receipt of application on 27th May 2014.

• Counselling for Sports Persons : 23.06.14 to 24.06.14
• Counselling for Differently Aided Persons : 25.06.14

Eligibility Criteria :-

• You should have completed Intermediate from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.
• You must secured at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for General Candidates.
• Reserved Categories (BC/ BCM / MBC & DNC / SC/ SCA / ST) candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate.

If you are not studied mathematics then you are ineligible to apply for this examination. Because to apply for TNEA you should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Percentage of Marks Eligibility of TNEA:
* For general 50%
* For BC and BCM- 45%
* for MBC & DNC - 40%
* for SC/SCA/ST - 35% all categories of students must studied in PCM for academic counseling. Same as pass percentage for Vocational groups.

Nativity Eligibility:
Those who studied VII to XIIth std in Tamilnadu. If studied in outside of Tamilnadu must enclose the nativity certificate. If can't not be considered.

If srilankan refugee candidates studying in Tamilnadu will be considered under open competition category under G.O(St) No. 172 Higher Education (J2) Dept. dated 29.06.2010. They have to enclose the following:
* Identification from Head Quaters Tahsildar
* Those who have not registered in the refugee camp, they should submit Passport and Visa.

Eligibility for Marine Engineering Branch:

For specially marine engineering, If you want to choose it, you should pass in 10+2 or equivalent exams and must have PCM subjects & English as a separate subject with a average not less than 60% for all communities. Further a minimum of 50% in English either at 10th or at 12th std is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MARINE ENGG:
>> maximum age limit 25yrs
>> minimum height 157cm
>> minimum weight 48kg
>> normal colour vision.
