What all are the criteria to get an admission in a BAMS college? Is there any entrance? What are the total number of seats in BAMS colleges in Kerala?

BAMS refers to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery it is a 5 and a half years course. There are lots of colleges offering this course, so to get admission in these colleges to pursue this course you have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

> Candidate should have completed their 12th standard or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and biology subjects with high percentage of marks from a recognized board.

> Candidates who have studied sanskrit as their subject in 12th standard will get more preference.

To apply for this course you have to appear for entrance examinations like

> AIPMT.

> PGIMER.

> AIIMS.

The selection of the candidates is based on the marks secured in the 12th examination and in the entrance examination.

The number of seats available in BAMS colleges, Kerala is 60 to 120. After clearing the entrance examinations the seats will be filled by the selected candidates. So, as a result to get admission in BAMS colleges you must score good marks in the above mentioned entrance examinations.

You need to complete 12th standard with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Sanskrit with not less than 50% of marks from a recognized board to be eligible for BAMS course. Your age should not be less than 17 years. The admission for BAMS course differ from college to college. Some reputed colleges may conduct their own entrance exam to allot admissions for candidates. The entrance exam such as,

- AYUSH Entrance Exam
- Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka
- Kerala State Entrance Exam
- National Institute of Ayurveda Entrance exam (NIA)
- AIMEE

Please, refer the official website of the concerned college to get more details regarding the admission process. Mostly, the application forms and brochures are available in the admission office of the colleges/universities.

Total number of seats may also differ from college to college based on various factors such as,

- College reputation
- Quality of Education etc.

The candidates who have passed 12th examinations with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for the BAMS course in Kerala. The candidates should appear for the state level entrance test called as Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Entrance Examinations (KEAM). The admission will be done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance and 12th (PCB). So you have to clear the KEAM with good marks to get BAMS seat in Kerala. Yes, you are eligible for BAMS course.

BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard with PCB with above 50% marks from a recognized university then you are eligible for BAMS course.

Your minimum age should be 17 years.

Every state conduct their own entrance exam. Seats for BAMS course is not fixed. It is varies.

To get admission in BAMS degree, candidates must have to satisfy the required eligibility criteria.
Candidates those who have completed their class 12th or equivalent from a recognised Board with a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate and 60% in PCB are eligible to opt for MBBS course.
You have to appear in the Entrance examination, qualifying in which you can take admission to study the said course.
