I am planning to drop biology, so I just wanted to know if biology is required to pursue hotel management courses or not? Please, do tell me in details.

No, Biology is not required to pursue hotel management course.

As per the eligibility of hotel management, there is no specific marks required to appear for hotel marks.

At various stage the eligibility is as follow:

Eligibility criteria for hotel management course:

Diploma course after 10th: To apply for diploma course a candidate must have passed Class 10th exam from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.

Bachelor's Degree: For Bachelor's Degree a candidate must have passed class 10+2 examination at least 50% marks.

Post Graduation Degree: To be eligible for post graduation management program a candidate must have passed Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.

Certificate course: If a candidate wants to apply to certificate degree you should have completed minimum eligibility criteria the program.

In 12th, English as cumpulsory or equivalent qualification.

Hotel Management is a 4 years duration course for which you need to complete your 12th standard or equivalent with minimum 45% to 50% marks from a recognized board. Candidates from any stream can pursue bachelor's degree in hotel management. So, if you want to drop biology then you may go ahead, because it is not mandatory to pursue biology for hotel management course.

Eligibility to study the BA or BSc Hotel Management or Bachelor of Hotel Management is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent examinations in any stream. Candidates who have completed 10+2 in any stream can apply for the hotel management course. Admission to the course is done on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying examinations. Some reputed colleges may conduct an entrance examination also for the admission. Duration of the course is three years. Above mentioned courses are available in various colleges in India.

No, biology is not mandatory a subject to get admission in Hotel Management course . You can get admission in Hotel Management course after completion of your 12th degree from a recognized university.

Therefore, I would suggest you to try and score as well as possible in your 12th board examination and then can get admission in the above mentioned course and continue with your studies further.

Eligibility criteria for Hotel Management admission:-

Minimum qualification for admission is a pass certificate in the final examination of 12th system or its equivalent.

You must have passed at least one public( Board or Pre - University) examination.

Those appearing in 12th final or equivalent examination can also appear in Join Entrance Examination(JEE) for being considered on the provision basis.

Age limit:-

22 years for General/PH and 25 years for SC / ST candidates. In the case of scheduled Tribes, upper age limit is realxable by 3 years.

Eeither you drop Biology or you continue with Biology you will be able to pursue degree course in hotel management.

No, Bio is not required... neither you gonna study bio in HM. One who has completed at least their 10+2 from any NOIS/State/CBSE recognized board examination or its equivalent (Diploma course) with 'English' subjects with 50% are eligible to join this course.
