After M.Sc can I apply for PhD in any other University or Mumbai University?


Dear Sir,
I'm pursuing Msc in Bioinformatics from Sikkim Manipal university(Distance Education). After my Msc, can I apply for PhD from any other university or mumbai university.

Yes, definitely you can pursue Ph.D from any other recognized University. There is no such rule that you have to do Ph.D from the same University. You must fulfill the admission criteria for that University for Ph.D admission.

Every University has some criteria for Ph.D admission and if you satisfy that eligibility criteria, then nobody can stop you from taking admission into that college. There are many top universities which ask for NET/GATE/ICMR qualified candidates only for Ph.D admission.

There are also many Universities in India which conduct entrance examination for admission into Ph.D program. Therefore, score good marks in your master's degree and be ready for Ph.D admission.
