Can I get admission to study PhD(Mathematics) in IIT-Mumbai if secured 159 rank in GATE?


Hello
I am a M.Sc. final year student in Mathematics.
I have got an all India rank 159 and a score 409 in GATE.
I belong to OBC category. I want to do my PhD in Mathematics
from any IIT(especially Mumbai IIT ).
For that what i have to do next??

Yes you can apply for Ph.D admission if you have got excellent GATE score. If your score is above others who have applied for admission then you will get admission. IITs give admission on the basis of NET/SLET/GATE score for candidates with a Masters degree in relevant discipline. Also make sure that you have got at least 55% marks in your Masters degree from a recognized University. There is relaxation of 5% marks for candidates who belong to reserved category.
