I have completed M.Sc in Biochemistry. Please tell me the detailed procedure for joining in the PhD programme. Thank you!

Eligibility Criteria Required to join Ph.D for Biotechnology course:

The basic educational qualification required to join Ph.D for Biotechnology course is "Master's Degree" from a recognized university. For some of the colleges M.Phil (Master of Philosophy) is a pre-requisite to start Ph.D course.

There are some of the colleges consider University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (NET) Entrance Exam score to get admission in Doctoral Program. Some of the colleges offer Admission on the basis of an Interview. As you are done with M.Sc in Biochemistry, I suggest you to appear in UGC NET Entrance Examination as most of the reputed universities offer admission based on this score.

if you have an aggregate of 55% in your Masters degree, you can look out for the university which will call out for PhD applications. and apply to the university for the entrance exam and pay fees online. Clear the exam and the list will be put up o the merit system. if you happen to clear in the merit system, you will have to talk to your guide about the topic which ever you have to the research.If they accept to guide your research project, you will create a synopsis and get it approved. Once approved, you will start the data collection and start with your PhD.
Disclaimer: If you have cleared NET exam in JRF(junior Research Fellowship), you can submit the score card along with the university application before taking the entrance exam of that particular university.
