Details about the pattern of ICMR and CSIR examinations? Syllabus and old question papers?


hi
I completed m.sc medical biochemistry, wanted to do ph.d in a good institue so please give me details about THE PATTERN OF ICMR AND CSIR examinations and syllabus, and old question papers and pattern of the papers

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will conduct joint CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship.

It will be held in June and December and in the streams of,

• Chemical Sciences
• Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
• Life Sciences
• Mathematical Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Engineering Sciences

Eligibility Criteria:

• Need to have Master Degree in equivalent subject which he/she is appearing for the examination
• Need to have minimum 55% in academics
• Candidates in final year are also eligible
• Candidates need to submit their degree certificate within one year from the date of this test, otherwise candidate will be disqualified.

Exam Paper Pattern:

It is conducted in 3 papers,

Paper I:

• There will be 60 total questions but you need to attempt 50
• Marks - 100
• Duration - 01 hours 15 minutes

Paper II:

• Total 50 questions will be there
• Marks - 100
• Duration - 01 hours 15 minutes

Paper III:

• Total 75 questions will be there
• Marks - 150
• Duration - 02 hours 30 minutes

Indian Council of Medical Research will conduct joint test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship.

Eligibility Criteria:

• M.Sc,/M.A. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks in medical stream for General/OBC
• Candidates and 50% for the SC/ST & physically handicapped candidates

Age Limit:

The age limit for admission to the eligibility test is 28 years as on 30-09-2014 (upper age limit relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, physically handicapped (PH) and female candidates, 3 years in the case of OBC category.

Paper Pattern:

The test will consist of one paper of 2 hours duration.

The paper will consist of 2 Sections.

The Aptitude Section (Section A) will have 50 questions on ,

(i) Scientific phenomenon in everyday life;
(ii) General knowledge in sciences; and
(iii) Common statistics.

All these questions would be compulsory with each question carrying 1 mark.

The subject Specific Section (Section B & C) would pertain to

(B) Life Sciences and
(C) Social Science.

The candidate may attempt questions in either of the two areas.

Each area of section B & C would have 100 questions and the candidate may attempt any 75 questions in the predesigned area of Section B or C.

Candidates are required to indicate the option for Section B or C in the application form too.

Each question carries one mark and Negative marking @ 0.25 will be made for each of the wrong answer. The questions in both the sections would appear in English only.

Qualifying Marks:

The qualifying marks will be 55% obtained in both the sections (A+B or C) for General Category and OBC and 50% for SC/ST and physically handicapped.

The test will be held in the following streams:

(1) Aptitude test (common for all)
(2) Life Sciences
(3) Social Sciences.

• Physiology
• Molecular biology
• Genetics
• Human biology
• Biotechnology
• Biochemistry
• Bioinformatics
• Biophysics
• Immunology
• Pharmacology
• Zoology
• Botany
• Environmental sciences and
• Veterinary science.

Syllabus for Social Sciences includes:

• Psychology
• Sociology
• Anthropology
• Social work
• Home sciences
• Statistics and
• Health economics.
