I am a Government Teacher and completed M.A. in Urdu. Can I do PhD in Urdu? Please give me some tips about eligibility. Is there any entrance exam, necessary?

If you have got 55% marks in your M.A Urdu then surely you can apply for PH.D admission. If you want to apply for admission without entrance exam then try to qualify NET/SET in Urdu subject.

PH.D is a research programme and without exam and interview you won't get admission. There is merit list prepared before selecting the candidates.

Yes, it's necessary to appear in UGC NET entrance exam to do Ph.D course in Urdu.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates.

Final year student are also eligible for NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.
