Available streams in M.Tech for Civil Engineers?


I am studying in final year of Civil Engineering course in National Institute of Technology, Puducherry and after it want to study M.Tech from IITs. Which are the stream available in M.Tech?

List of Branches available in Master of Technology (M.Tech) for Civil Engineers:

There are several streams available for Bachelor's in Civil Engineering candidates. Branches that are offered in IIT's generally varies from one IIT to another and hence I suggest you to go through concerned college's website for that respective streams. In general, below are the top streams that are offered for Civil Engineering candidates. They are,

>> M.Tech in Civil Engineering

>> M.Tech in Structural Engineering

>> M.Tech in Transportation Engineering

>> M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering

>> M.Tech in Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering

>> M.Tech in Building Technology and Construction Management

Some of the important streams in M.Tech for Civil Engineers are as follows:

-- Structural Engineering

-- Building Technology and Construction Management

-- Environmental Engineering

-- Geotechnical Engineering

-- Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering

-- Transportation Engineering

-- Town planning Engineering

-- Water Resource engineering.

Above list were the main branches of civil engineering for doing Mtech.

Choose the branch which you are interested but career wise i suggest you to choose 'Structural engineering' because they can get jobs very easily like in the fields of construction,design etc. how ever other branches also have equal number of opportunities.
