I have no domicile certificate with me. I have heard that for government jobs you are required to produce this certificate. But i want to know whether this certificate is demanded by private companies as well or not?

Yes, for the government job you are asked to provide the domicile certificate along with your caste certificate if does not belong to general. Even you are asked to produce birth certificate as well as residence certificate. So there are many document that you require to produce while getting government job.

But, this thing is not with the private job. What you need to provide is the document that reveals your authenticity as well as genuinity that is all.

Pan Card
Driving License.
passport.
Voter Card.
Bank Account.

As per my knowledge the domicle certificate is dmanded by very few private companies but it depends on the company in which you are applying for.
Generally the top private companies of India demand this certificate.
So it would be better for you to apply for this certificate where you are residing and because it is in demand where ever you will apply for job.

No, private companies will not demand domicile certificate. However, it will demand the following -

- Copies of Academic records
- PAN card
- Government authorized recognition card for off-role position
