I want to do a project in the instrumentation field in mettur thermal power plant? I want the detail regarding the instrumentation project taken place in mettur thermal power plant till now? How should i approach?

I guess you are enrolled in the Electrical and Instrumentation course in any of the engineering college. So, instrumentation course is having better opportunity for the student who are involved in this field.

Basically, instrumentation course has many prerequisite before going to its training.
Some of the prerequisite are mentioned below:

1. You must have good knowledge of the core subject.
2. you must have Electrical concepts too.
3. You must be able to solve any of the minor issues based on Instrumentation domain.
You need not to be expert into it, but must ave basic understanding in this field.

** If you have these understanding then, you can go for the instrumentation project.
