I have got a job as consultant in one company and as a associate software engineer in another, which will be an better option considering I want to do MS in technical field later

It depends on your field of interest. Both consultant and associate software engineering position are good job roles. In consultant job, you are more business focused while in associate software engineering you are more development/testing focused. Thus, you should choose the discipline as per the below factors.

- Your field of interest in which you want to pursue MS.
- Package offered by each company. Go for the higher one.
