Hi, I am an MBA graduate, and working in a product based firm from past 3 years in Web Application Testing, Black Box Testing , Manual Testing , We work on only one product which is ongoing throughout the years.

I want to change my job, but I see no other go because i am MBA and not B Tech, previously i was in Tax Compliance .

I am interested in Software Field now, I have tried to learn VBA, VB Scripting , C#, Selenium (Automation Testing) but i am not getting any job calls for IT firms.

Is there really any scope for MBA in IT field , If yes what should i do to get in software ( Development/Testing).

Should i go for any certification ?

The scope for the MBA Finance graduate in IT industry is very limited. The MBA Finance holders can work in the IT industry in the Finance / Accounts or Administration sections. It is very difficult to get an IT job with MBA Finance qualification. The MBA Finance candidates can work in various fields like Banks, Asset Management companies, Investment Banking, Insurance sector, BPOs etc. They can work as Finance Manager, Finance Consultant, CFO, Financial Analyst etc. The scope for the MBA Finance holders is very limited in IT industry, so you can try for various jobs in other industries or you have to study some IT related courses to pursue your career in the IT industry.

For software development MBA is not a matching qualification. Of course you can attend interviews, but you should have a computer science background or engineering. Please make sure your undergraduate degree has something related to the work you are applying to. Also you can get certifications done in the field of your interest so that your skills are validated.
