SC category candidates have 7.5% reservation in number of seats.

First of all I would like to make you clear that now there is no examination called as IIT JEE exists. Now JEE is the common engineering entrance examination held for the selection of students for their technical degree courses from any of the government colleges like IIT, IIIT, ISM and ISM.

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination and it is held by the CBSE once every year by the purpose mentioned in top paragraph.

The examination is held in two stages which are called as JEE Main and JEE Advance and are held in mentioned order.

The qualification required for appearing in the JEE Main is a higher secondary degree with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board of education.

But for the JEE Advance you will have to clear the first stage of JEE together with that much percentage of marks in your 12th board examination that keeps you within the top 20 percentile students of your respective board of examination.

Since SC stands for Scheduled Caste and it comes under the reserved category as per government norms so they enjoy the relaxation in qualifying marks for JEE. The qualifying marks for the SC category for the JEE Main 2015 is 50 marks which was 53 marks for JEE Main 2014. Also the qualifying marks for JEE Advance for the year 2015 and 2014 for SC category are 63 marks and 65 marks respectively.

For year 2014, it was 63 marks.

For year 2015, it was 65 marks.

You must know that SC category candidates have relaxation of 7.5% in total number of seats.
