For your admission in the B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) Degree, candidate’s merit is assessed through a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the CLAT Committee. At least you need to have cleared Higher Secondary School/Intermediate Examination (10+2) in any stream with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Even the students who are appearing for Class 12 examination are also eligible to apply. The entrance exams will have a paper of 90 minutes containing 150 questions from the following sections English: 35 questions, General Knowledge/Current Affairs: 35 questions, Mathematics: 10 questions, Legal Aptitude: 35 questions, Logical Reasoning: 35 questions.

Re: Subjects to be studied in HS for Law as higher education?
Law is an evergreen field and is growing tremendously in all aspects with the increase in number of crimes, corruption cases and amendments of various existing laws by the government. It is an excellent field that has the potential of giving a lucrative career with high remuneration as well as high esteem.
Since you wish to pursue higher education in the field of Law, so you can go for any stream. This is because you can get into this field irrespective of your stream. The admissions are done either on the basis of marks in your 10+2 or entrance exam which is conducted by reputed institutes and some private institutions. However, it will be helpful if you take up Arts stream in your 10+1 and 10+2,i.e., go for Arts subjects like History,Political Science, Geography,Sociology in your Higher Secondary. As the field of Law is related to these subjects to some extent so you will get some help. However the field of Law is a complete different field of study which does not have much need of your 10+2 subjects. |
