Hi, Sir I have completed my 12th and now I want to become an eye doctor? What I have to take in B.Sc, I think optometry but I'm not sure. Please reply me & I have not wrote the EAMCET. Please reply me asap.Thank you!

If you want to become a specialist doctor in Eye then after completion of your 12th with medical stream from recognised board, you have to qualify All India Pre Medical Entrance Exam to pursue 5 years degree course known as MBBS then after completion of MBBS you will have to go for MD course for speciality in eye.

After completion of your 12th if you wish to become an Eye Doctor, you should opt for B.Optometry course and after completion of the course you should go for internship program from a well recognized hospital.

After completion of your internship program, you can very much get a job in any good Hospital.

The aspirant can choose B.Optom (Bachelor of Clinical Optometry) course after 12th. The eligibility to study the course is a pass in 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks. The duration of the course is 4 years. You have to appear for a centralised entrance examination called EYECET. The course is available in various colleges in India like

If you want to become doctor in any discipline either oncology or ophthalmology or dermatology etc, you will have to do Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from any recognized medical college in desired discipline. Earlier there used to be many entrance exam conducted for admission in MBBS course but as per latest supreme court order, mow there will be only one entrance exam called National Eligibility cum entrance test.

NEET is conducted by CBSE and for this exam , you must have studied physics, chemistry and biology and scored at least 50% marks. NEET will conducted on 24th July and you can apply for this exam and if you want you can also apply for EAMCET as this year state medical entrance exam is allowed.

First of all you need to take admission in MBBS course through any medical entrance exam. After completion of MBBS degree if you want to become an eye specialist then you need to opt for MD in the same field.
Ophthalmologists are called eye specialists. They have MD specialisation in Opthalmology. Optometry is a different qualification which is a paramedical course which will allow you to correct vision through glasses and lenses.

Sir, is neet compulsory for opthamology or what can else we do for becoming an eye doctor? I am 12 th passed out student sir and I didn't appear for EAMCET So how can I become an eye doctor plzzz help me out sir

I want to become a doctor of eye so want to know that is it neet or mbbs neccessory for becomimg a doctor of eye or we will directly apply for b.opt after my twelth

If aim is to become an Eye Doctor, then MBBS and MD is the only option. If you just want to become an Eye Optics Technician, who can check eye and correct vision through glasses and lenses, then you can opt for B.Optometry.

For becoming a Doctor you have to study MBBS from a MCI approved college. There is no other way. Surgery can be only performed by MBBS and MD Doctors. Rest other qualifications don't have the permission to do surgical operations on eye.

---Firat of all complete your 12th with PCB as a main subjects with minimum of 50-60%Mark's from a recognized board.

--After that apply for MBBS course and scored an average Mark's. If you want to get admission in the top most college of MBBS then please appear and crack the entrance exam namely as NEET.

---Aftwr completion of MBBS program,you should try for MD in any of the speciality you are intrested like Eye.
