Effect's will be positive as well as negative. It deped on your child's psychological condition that in which way he will handle this situation.

Positive Effect's :-

New Study Pattern.
New teacher's.
New friends.

Negative Effect's :-

Change of Study environment.
Adoption of new study pattern.
Strange environment.

So motivate your son and provide every possible resource which will be helpfull for his future.

If you are in secondary school currently, then you cannot be a specific student of Mathematics. You develop your specialization only after class 10 examination. So currently you are a secondary student, who has Mathematics as one of the subjects in his secondary school. Along with this I think you want to go a specialization in Mathematics later on. Otherwise you would not have mentioned that particular subject specifically. So I suggest you take up pure science in class 12 having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Now let me point out that your thinking is wrong totally. For getting a better academic career in fact, you would require to change a lot of schools. In fact, since you are a ward of government employee, you would know it better. A government employee has a transferable job. So you have to change schools almost every alternative year. So do you think children of all government employees have bad academic career. On the contrary, they have a taste of various course curriculums and they become prepared for competitive examination in a much better way.

Everything depends on you and if you can practice Mathematics then you will be able to get good marks and the changing of School does not matter.
You need to have proper guidance and then you need to practice Mathematics on a daily basis.
If you can do this then there will be no effect regarding the change of Schools.
So make sure you practice Mathematics on a daily basis.

The result will be negative as well positive. If the child cannot itself in the environment then, the result will be negative . It will take time to adjust into the new environment.
Also the experience of child increases by making new friends and with the new teachers and it will be positive impact.
