My son is 11 years old and presently studying in class 6th and shall appear class 6th exam in this month. Please tell me what is the minimum age limit for appearing class 10th exam in CBSE Board for my son?

Age Criteria Required to appear in 10th Class of CBSE Board:

Yes, your son can appear in 6th Class Examination being a 11 year old candidate. Of course yes, he may continue his studies with the present age criteria till 10th Class and he is eligible for pursuing 10th Class with the age criteria. Here is the minimum and maximum age required to pursue certain classes in CBSE Board.

For CBSE Class 6th:-
Minimum Age Required - 10 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 12 years

For CBSE Class 7th:-
Minimum Age Required - 11 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 13 years

For CBSE Class 8th:-
Minimum Age Required - 12 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 14 years

For CBSE Class 9th:-
Minimum Age Required - 13 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 15 years

For CBSE Class 10th:-
Minimum Age Required - 14 years
Maximum Age Allowed - 16 years

The minimum age required to appear in 10th standard CBSE Board examinations is 15 years. Since, your son is 11 years old being a 6th standard student, by the completion of his 10th standard, his age will be around 15 years. So, your so is eligible to appear in 10th standard CBSE Board examinations without any age shortage problems.

Age limit for class 10th CBSE student:

The student seeking admission to
class 10th CBSE Board examination has to satisfy the requirement of age limits as determined by the State/UT.

The minimum age should be 14 years at the time of examination and maximum age should be 16 years.

So, your son will be eligible as he will be of 15 years of age at the time of class 10th examination.

Mainly CBSE has defined the lower age limit criteria for class nursery and for class 10th.

There is no any upper age limit criteria. For class nursery a student must have a minimum age of 4 years.

For class 10th a candidate must have a minimum age of 14 years. So, your son is fulfilling all the above criteria for age in CBSE board.
