I am 38 years old and part time lecturer of a college. I passed MA in ancient Indian history and culture from Calcutta University in the year 2002. Now I want to do PhD through distance education. Please tell me how can it possible? Can you please provide me the details on the same?

Yes, you can do Ph.D course through distance mode but your masters degree marks must be above 55%.

If you have got MA qualification with 55% marks, then surely you will be eligible for Ph.D admission in India. There is no age limit for Ph.D admission.

At the time of admission, you need to have a good reason for your gap after graduation. If you perform well in entrance exam and interview, then surely you will get admission.

I am happy to tell you that definitely you are eligible to do Ph.D through distance after the completion of MA long time before, there is no problem in it after a long gap of years.
Candidates those who have completed their Masters degree from a recognised University with a minimum of 55% of marks in it are eligible to opt for the Ph.D course.
