What is the minimum criteria needed to do Ph.D after completion of post graduation? What is the marks percentage expected in college? Can someone please provide me the complete details on the same? Awaiting for the quick response. Thank you!

Candidates after completion of post graduation can apply for PhD in the same subject. Candidates should have master’s degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA are eligible to apply for PhD. The eligible applicants are shortlisted on the basis of PhD Entrance Test and Personal Interview. The candidates who have cleared the NET or SET or GATE or MPhil shall be exempted from the entrance test. The interested candidates can apply online for the admission to PhD in various universities.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from a recognized university are eligible for Ph.D entrance exam. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

There are no age criteria.

As per the rules the minimum qualification required to pursue PhD is post graduation in any discipline from recognised University with at least 50% marks and relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates of reserved categories. No age bar. You must have a valid NET scorecard.
As you have completed your post graduation so you are eligible to pursue PHD.

You need to have at least 55% marks in your post graduation degree to become eligible for Ph.D entrance exams. For reserved category, 50% marks is required after relaxation.

Admission in Ph.D will be based on the performance in entrance exam and interview conducted by the concerned university. You need to apply for admission on a prescribed format, when notification is out.
