I am a 3rd B.Tech Student.I applied for gate in this year but i don't know how to prepare for Gate.Will you please guide me for this GATE exam.

as you said you are student of 3rd year there is fairly enough time for you to prepare for GATE exam

from now onwards you should start revising all your basics of 2nd year also
because the GATE course mainly comprises of 2nd & 3rd year course
and you also need to solve at least, last 10 year question papers of GATE
because only then you will have a probability of having a good percentile score in GATE. GK publication books can help a lot for that.

GATE is considered in important and tough exams of india so you may work hard you have to focus on the technical subject of your stream and make your concept clear about each and every topic you should choose some specific subject which are your favorite and start doing numerical portion of those subject .

some tips to follow for success in gate are as follows

-> be clear on the syllabus and pattern of the paper

->know what all syllabus is there for the exam


->make all syllabus in to equal parts

->plan accordingly to your time and make a successful plan

->these few days keep away from your friends because every second of yours is very important

->say no to movies cellphone chatting and so on

->make healthy group discussions and combined preparation with intelligent friends regarding the GATE topics

->keep concentrated through out your preparation

for this do meditation every day



follow all the tips till the exam you can definitely succeed in your exam

well friend can i know first that which stream you belong to...anyways for GATE you need to be strong in your basics in which ever stream you belong..start preparing from zero level and then go higher...start solving as many questions as possible and get familiar with different questions...

gate exam is the graduate aptitude test in engineering .

this exam is conducted in the eight zones of the India by 7 IIT's and IISC , BANGLORE

the objectives of this GATE exam are to identify meritorious and motivated candidates for

admission to the post graduate engineering at the national level.
every year one IIT or IISC is selected as the organizing institute .


as the gate exam is for the post graduation , it includes the syllabus of the b.tech .
like , if you have done btech in electronics then you can choose the electronics subject for the gate exam.

preparation of the gate exam should be started in the 3rd year of the b.tech according to me.

knowledge in the specific subject and clearification of the concept is the key to success in the gate exam.

you have to do study planning according to the weightage of the subject.

gate exam have one paper of 3 hours. in that you can choose the subject of your interest.

As you said you have lot of time for GATE preparation.GATE is one of the leading entrance exam.
Preparation for gate simple compared to CAT,MAT exams.
PREPARATION
1.You need to be strong in engineering subjects.
2.you have to strong in aptitude,reasoning topics.
3.Study atleast last 5 GATE model papers.
4.You need to be strong in general english.
This preparation is may helpful for other exams also.So,try to prepare seriously.
