I am doing 3rd year civil engg..... is GRE only exam for doing MS abroad or r there different examination...if yes kindly reply?? and which universities are good in terms of civil engg..? Can you please provide me the correct information on this in order to take a decision for my future? Thanks in advance.

No, appearing in only GRE examination is not enough to get admission in MS course in Abroad. Along with GRE examination, you need to appear in IELTS/TOEFL examinations to prove your English Language Proficiency skills in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking sections. Appearing in GRE examination is not mandatory to get admission in MS course, whether to appear in GRE examination or not depends upon the university and country, you are going to pursue MS course. By scoring good marks in GRE and IELTS/TOEFL examinations, you can get admission in MS course in Abroad universities.

You cannot get MS admission only through GRE score. That's because most of the foreign universities offers MS admission by considering GRE and IELTS or TOEFL scores. So, you have to take IELTS or TOEFL exam to apply for MS admissions at foreign universities.

IELTS :-
This is an exam to test the ability of a person in Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking sections of English. Each section will hold forty marks.

Exam pattern:-
1)Listening - 30 minutes
2)Writing - 60 minutes
3)Reading - 60 minutes
4)Speaking - 10 to 14 minutes
The exam score will be calculated for 10 bands.

TOEFL :-
TOEFL stands for Test Of English as Foreign Language. This exam is used to test the ability of a candidate in English language.

Exam pattern(120 marks)
This exam is based on the following sections
Reading - 30 marks
Writing - 30 marks
Listening - 30 marks
Speaking - 30 marks
