What are the requirements for foreign students who want admission in the Govt medical colleges in mumbai. Can they get admission without giving the medical entrance. Is there any quota for them with a different fee structure.

To get admission in the Indian Institutions being a Foreign student, you require any one of the following documents as per the norms laid by the Government of India as mentioned below :-
1. Student Visa
2. PIO Card
3. OCI Card

1.Student Visa :- The Student Visa is issued by Indian Mission Abroad from where the student hails or resides. The Student Visa for the bachelor's degree courses is issued normally on producing an NOC issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India, New Delhi . In order to get this NO,C the student has to submit an application through the principal/HOD of the concerned college where he / she seeks admission.

2.PIO Card :- PIO stands for Person of Indian origin, this card scheme came into existence in 2002 and the details of obtaining this card is available on http://www.mha.nic.in. PIO card holders are to eligible to register with local FRO/Police if his/her stay continues for more than 180 days.

3.OCI card :- The application for Overseas Citizen of India card is available on http://www.mha.nic.in .They are exempted from registering with FRO/Police .It may be added that provisional admission cannot be given for students unless they produce any one of the above documents as intimated recently by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India. Only an offer letter for admission will be given to enable the student to get the Student Visa.

In addition to the above mentioned documents, the following documents are also required for a foreign student for getting an admission in Indian Institutions are :-

1.Prescribed application form duly filled in by the NRI/Foreign students
2.Secondary Education certificate along with its equivalence from association of Indian Universities, New Delhi
3. Birth Certificate.
4.Copy of passport and Visa.
5.Passport size Photograph
6.Certificate of Registration /Residential Permit from local police/FRO
