Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Applications Centre shortly called as APSRAC is an autonomous society working under the Government of Andhra Pradesh and it is registered under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001. The Chairman of the society is the Principal Secretary of the AP Government’s Planning Department. It is a nodal agency for application of remote sensing and GIS Technology for natural resources inventory and management in the state. The centre is operating from the city of Ameerpet in the capital city of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Applications Centre has called for online applications from eligible candidates for the position of GIS Analyst to work in one of its projects called as Spaced Based Information Support for Decentralized Planning (SIS-DP) and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this respect.

Name of the Vacancy: GIS Analyst

Number of Vacancies: 210

Terms of employment: Appointment will be purely on contract basis and the position is purely temporary in nature.

Terms of Reference:

Terms of reference for the position of GIS Analyst would be preparation of base map with the help of on-screen digitization of scanned cadastral maps and satellite data, ground truth data collection, limited field checks and attribute data incorporation and any other tasks pertaining to it.

Educational Qualification and experience:

To apply for the position of GIS Analyst, candidates must be diploma holders in engineering or degree holders in science with at least one year of experience in GIS Techniques/CAD Drawings.
