Apart from general orthopaedic surgery, the orthopaedics department of AIIMS, has a faculty that specializes in the fields like treatment of complex trauma, spine surgery, pediatric orthopaedics, musculoskeletal oncology, hand surgery, sports medicine and joint replacement. Eligibility for getting into Ph. D in Orthopaedics course:

Candidates aiming at doing Ph. D in Orthopaedics will have to satisfy the following conditions for getting into the course:

• PG Diploma or Degree/M. Ch in Orthopaedics or Orthoopaedical surgery from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India

• However, before obtaining the PG qualification in orthopaedics and related fields, candidates must have completed their MBBS from an MCI approved institution with at least 55% of marks.

Duration for Ph. D in Orthopaedics course:

Candidates complete ph. D in Orthopaedics course on submission of thesis and according to the norms of AIIMS thesis should be submitted by the medical professionals within five years from the date of registration to the Ph. D in Orthopaedics course.
