NJSA Government College, Kapurthala: NJSA Government college is one of the oldest institutions in the state of Punjab and the college came into existence in the year 1856 as a Sanskrit institution and then in the year 1896, it was upgraded as a intermediate institution and again in the year 1945, it was made as a degree college. The first PG course was introduced in the year 1968 in English and gradually several other PG courses were introduced by the institution. It is government-funded college functioning with affiliation from the Guru Nanak Dev University at Amritsar. The college presently offers B. Sc Medical, B. Com, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in economics and English.

Government College, Bhulath: This college is also affiliated to the Guru Nanak Dev University and it is meant for offering arts and science courses at the UG level.

Training Institutions:

Government Inservice Training Centre and Government ITI at Kapurthala District offer technical education to aspiring candidates in such a way as to help them for their future career. Some of the training courses offered by these institutions include welder, mechanic, etc… in other trades as well.
