Medical Colleges:

Government Medical College, Patiala came into existence in the year 1953 and the intake capacity of the college is 150 students per year for the MBBS course according to the approval of the Medical Council of India. The college is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences located in the city of Faridkot and previously it was affiliated to the Punjab University located in Patiala. The college is also offering B. Sc and M. Sc in anatomy, biochemistry and physiology and B. Sc in Nursing, Diploma in Radiographer, D. Pharmacy, Post Basic Nursing and MD in different branches of medicine. Admission to the UG courses are done based on the marks secured by the students in the PMET, while for PG Courses, it is PGCET score of the candidates.

Government Ayurvedic College, Patiala offers Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Science and MD in Ayurveda Courses with affiliation form Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and admission to the UG course is done based on PMET score, while for PG course, it is done on the basis of BFUHS PGET course.

Dental College:

Government Dental College & Hospital, Patiala is approved by the Dental Council of India to admit 40 students per year for the BDS course. The college is also offering MDS course in different branches like Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics and conservative dentistry with an intake capacity of 2 students per year for these branches except for conservative dentistry branch for which admission capacity is 1 student.

Education Colleges:

Government College of Education came into existence in the year 1955 and the college is offering Bachelor of Education and Master of Education course with affiliation from the National Council of Teacher Education. Admission to the B. Ed course is done on the basis of Combined Entrance Test score, which is conducted by any of the state universities like Guru Nanak Dev/Punjabi/Punjab University. Of the total number of seats, 85% are seats are meant for admission of the students belonging to the state of Punjab, while the remaining 15% are all India quota seats.

Professor Gursewak Singh Government College of Physical Education offers M.P. Ed, B.P. Ed, B.P.E and C.P.E. courses in the faculty of Physical Education. Admission is done by the college based on the performance of the students in Common Entrance Test conducted by Punjab State Government Higher Education Department.
