The academic session of Government of Polytechnic, Mahasamund started from 2008-2009. The College is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU). The head of the institute is an Electrical Engineer by profession. The philosophy of the Institute believes in excellence in true sense through innovative management practices. The mission of the institute is to grant good quality technical education at a reasonable cost so that all students studying here can be empowered with a decent job and lead a better standard of living. The Vision of this Institute states to become the best Polytechnic if this country when it comes to quality education, Lab facilities, Faculty, Library, training & Placement, neat and green campus, peaceful ambient and environment and it also want to go beyond just teaching the course syllabus.

Development of the Institute:

The college has developed in a short span of time. The Institute promotes things like transfer of technology, skill improvement and increasing productivity which can lead to optimization of physical and human resources. It has developed quality assurance mechanisms with industries by offering consultancy and education. The Institute holds a grievance mechanism system where in students and faculty can share feedback. It also has a Grievance redressal mechanism in place for students, faculty and staff. There are on an average 30 seats per course.

The Library of Government of Polytechnic, Mahasamund

has total 225 books on all subjects and have subscription to online National and International Journals. E- Library or E- Learning Centre is there for staff and students. The digital library has cds on various subjects.

Courses offered:

The Institute offers Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Science Engineering along with a bachelor’s course of diploma in Engineering and some part time courses.

Eligibility:

It is not too difficult to enter the institute however to sustain is commendable.

It sees the merit marks of 10+2 and graduation for Post Graduation Courses along with the entrance test and state level counseling that the candidate will have to pass.
