Goa Vidyprasarak Mandal’s (GVM) Shri Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce & Economics was established in the year 1975 and the college is affiliated to the Goa University. The college is controlled by an educational society called Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal.

The dream of the college is to become a center of excellence in education and to produce students who become eligible to work in responsible positions in the society. The mission of the college is to make higher education available to students particularly from rural areas in and around Ponda taluka of Goa.

It also aims to empower students with knowledge, skills, and proficiency to become ideal citizens of India.

Courses offered:

GVM’S G. G. Poy Raiturcar College offers the following undergraduate and post graduate courses:

Undergraduate courses available at the college are Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). The duration of these courses is 3 years.

Post Graduate course available at the college is Master of Commerce (M.Com). The duration of this course is 2 years.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission:

• Candidates who have successfully passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent in commerce are eligible for getting admission for B.Com course.

• Candidates who have successfully passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary School Certificate examination or its equivalent in any stream are eligible for getting admission for BCA course.

Admission procedure for these undergraduate courses is based on the marks in the 10+2 examination or its equivalent.

Candidates who have successfully passed B.Com are eligible to apply for the M.Com course. Admission to this course is based on the marks obtained in B.Com degree.

The college offers excellent infrastructure with modern facilities such as well-equipped and spacious library, computer lab, gymnasium, canteen and extra-curricular activities.

The Placement cell of the college offers job opportunities to eligible students by providing excellent training.
