Veterinary science is a discipline of science that involves the study of animals and their up keeping.  It also deals with the detailed study of various animals and their body parts. The age limit for the candidates’ is from 20 to 22 years. Some universities do not keep the upper age limit for the students.

Career Opportunities after Higher studies in Veterinary Science

After pursuing the post graduation in Veterinary Science, graduates can also opt for the research programmes like PhD in various specializations such as poultry science, animal breeding and genetics, livestock production management, nutrition, pathology, microbiology, etc.

There are various sectors which need the service of a veterinarian. Some of those sectors are agriculture, poultry farms, dairy farms, government animal husbandry departments, veterinary clinics (both government and private), etc. Those candidates who have finished their post graduation in related fields can work as veterinary doctors or officers in animal husbandry departments.

Many opportunities are there for them in armed forces also. The Army Remount Veterinary Corps sector recruits these professionals directly. They are also employed in zoological parks or zoos and in wild life sanctuaries. Another employment field is the teaching field. The post graduates can work as professors or lecturers in many universities.

    i will complete my 12 std this year and i dont know the procedure to opt for or to seek admission in B.V.Sc course so please me with this it means a lot to me.

    i am confused what to opt after graduation from veterinary sciences.i am a student of 3rd yr B.V.Sc course.i dont have much knowledge of various options after that and dont know the criteria for them in india…please help me in coming out of this confusion
