Homeopathic Medicine
INTRODUCTION
Homeopathy follows a totally different concept of medical treatment, different from allopathic, ayurvedic and unani system of medicine and is a fast growing field of medicine. It was born in Germany, developed in America and is flourishing not only in India but also worldwide.
Homeopathy is based on the chemical principal of ‘similar similibus curentur’ which means let likes be cured by likes. This science originated by the work of smuel Hahnmann in the 18th century.
NATURE OF WORK
The homeopathy form of medicine is considerably different from the allopathic system of medicines in diagnostic and treatment procedures. The medication is in minute quantities and is mild as compared to the allopathic medication. Investigation does not involve the invasive procedures. The treatment lends a great significance to improving the body’s immune system while removing the genesis of the illness. Homeopathy offers treatment of the chronic conditions which in allopathic form of medicine may require surgical intervention.
PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS
The homeopathic form of medicine requires good mental ability and an aptitude to think logically. The ability to trace patient’s history of illness through questions and to record details simultaneously is required. A warm personality and a calm and patient demeanor is necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Homeopathic doctors work in offices like conditions and can keep fixed working hours. Though the working facilities may be directly related to the location urban or rural, it is considerably different from the allopathic setting as it does not require any invasive procedures. The equipments required are only basic hence there is a clean and uncluttered work environment.
