The admission form for the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) can be purchased by applicants from chosen branches of Post Offices.

The form is prices at Rs. 750/-. It is also available by post. To get the form by this procedure, students must send a requisition letter alongside a DD of Rs. 750/-. This DD must be taken in the name of the Admission Office, VIT University. The form can also be bought in person by giving a DD of 750/- to the exam counter of the VIT University, Vellore. It can also be got from the Chennai Campus of VIT or the Chennai City Office. The VIT also facilitates the students by allowing them to print the form from the official website of the university - http://www.vit.ac.in/.

Instructions to Be Followed For Filling in the Form

Students can follow these instructions when they are filling in the admission forms:

• Be very careful when you are filling the form.
• Take care to answer every column with extreme care.
• Make sure that you do not leave any column unanswered.
• Fill the form using the correct pen or pencil.
• Try to use a copy of the form before you fill the original. This will help you avoid making mistakes.
• Make certain that you have attached all documents that are mentioned in the brochure.
• Send the exam before the last date mentioned. Sending it in the last minute will cause you a lot of stress in addition to forgetfulness of important things.

Exemptions to be taken care while filling in form

A few exemptions are available for students who are appearing for the exam. They are given beneath.

Candidates will get an exemption:

• Of 50% if they are of the Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
• Of 50% if they belong to the OBC category.

If they have certifications from Sports or the NCC.

If they are dependents of ex servicemen.

Last date for receipt of applications

The admission form is to be received by the VIT office on or before the last week of February, 2011.

Acknowledgement of the Exam Application Form

No particular acknowledgment card will be dispatched to applicants. The only correspondence the students will get from the university will be the admit card. This is to be considered as the acknowledgement of the admission form. Applicants for the VITEEE will receive the admit card 30 days prior to the entrance exam. In case applicants do not receive the admit card, the chance is there that they have not been accepted by the university. In circumstances such as this, those students who do not receive this must contact the office of the VIT for enquiry.
