How to Prepare for Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test?

The Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test is conducted by the Rajasthan University, Jaipur. The RMAT exam is conducted for the admission into two year full time MBA program. Normally the exam  will be scheduled in the month of June. Numerous candidates appear for the exam each year. 52 Private institutes accept this score. Also it is accepted by 6 Government institutes..To appear for the test, the candidate should have completed a Bachelor degree or an equivalent exam from a recognized University.

Structure of the RMAT Exam

There will be multiple choice questions. Candidates need to attempt 200 questions. The duration of this exam is 2 1/2 hours. They can also attempt unsure questions as negative marking is not there. The RMAT exam consists of five sections. Each section carries 40 questions. The questions are from :

  • Mathematical Ability
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Reasoning Aptitude
  • English Language Proficiency and
  • General awareness

Syllabus of RMAT exam

The Mathematical Ability section covers the syllabus of:

  • Arithmetic
  • Geometry
  • Modern math
  • Speed and distance
  • Algebra
  • Profit and loss
  • Trigonometry
  • Tables
  • Line graph and
  • Geometrical Diagrams

The reasoning aptitude section deals with arguments. The candidate has to arrange things in logical manner. This will test the candidate’s presence of mind on the particular situation.

The Data analysis and interpretation section will check the candidate’s presence of mind and their knowledge.

The General knowledge section covers synonyms, antonyms, correct usage of grammar, idioms and phrases, Essay writing and reading comprehension. Newspapers, magazines and English news will provide good amount of information for this section. This will help them to improve their knowledge in the current happenings in India and around the world.

Reference books of RMAT

The candidate can either study from online or they can obtain the study material from the market. For English section, the candidate can also refer the MAT or CAT books. Some of the commonly referred books include Wren & Martin for grammar, R.S Agarwal and Oswal for the other areas.

Study Plan for RMAT

The candidate should allocate a specific time schedule for each subject. They should by heart the required formulae and equations thoroughly. They must practice all the problems before exam without wasting time. The candidate should complete the entire syllabus earlier and should revise it. Once they do this, they will get more confidence and can write their exam well. Thus, they can avoid the fear of exams on the exam day. This will give them the best result.
