Rajasthan Technical University conducts common entrance test, RAMCAAT for the selection of eligible candidates to MCA course. Those who qualify the test can apply to any of private or government aided institutions of Rajasthan. Final selection to the course is made according to the enrolment process and norms of the concerned institution that offers the course.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduation is the basic eligibility required to apply for MCA course. Aspirant must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at either HSC or graduation. Aggregate of 50% marks in graduation is necessary to apply. Those who are pursuing final year bachelor’s degree are also eligible, provided they submit certificate of course completion at the time of admission. Only candidates, who are domiciles of Rajasthan, can attend the test.

Selection Procedure

Rajasthan Technical University annually conducts entrance test called Rajasthan Common Admission Test/RMCAAT for selecting candidates to MCA course. RMCAAT is an objective model test having 200 questions. Duration of the test is 2 hours. Syllabus of test covers topics like

  • Elementary Computer Knowledge
  • Mathematical Ability
  • Reasoning and Aptitude

Sessions on Computer Knowledge and Mathematical Ability covers 60 questions each. There will be 80 questions from Reasoning and Aptitude session. Candidate must score well in each session to qualify the test, as there is cut off marks for each individual session.

Merit list is prepared on the basis of the aggregate score obtained in RMCAAT exam. This list will be made available in the official website of RMCAAT or Coordinator’s office at the time of declaration of result. If more than one candidate has scored equal marks, then selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in sessions of computer ability, mathematics and reasoning and aptitude sections respectively. If then also there is a tie, priority is given to candidates who was born earlier.

Application Procedure for RMCAAT Exam

Application fee for attending RMCAAT exam is Rs. 1000/-. This fee must be paid in the form of Demand Draft favoring Coordinator RMCAAT. Applications forms can be collected either from the office of RTU or via its official website. Filled up application forms must be submitted to the Office of the Coordinator of RMCAAT though any of the following methods

  • Registered Post
  • Speed post
  • By Hand

Application must be submitted with attested copies of mark lists, domicile certificate, Caste certificate, passport size photograph, 3 self addressed envelopes and self addressed acknowledgement card. The candidate will receive an acknowledgement card once the application reaches the administrative office.
