The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam is carried out for admission to B.Tech courses in VIT. The Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the best institutes in the country for technical education. The VIT was founded in 1984 and it is recognized by MHRD. The VIT provides all facilities, good infrastructure and high quality faculties. The entrance exam consists of multiple choice objective type questions. This test consists of 120 questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects. The duration of the test is 150 minutes. The candidate will get one mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The VITEEE cut off is expected to be above 90.

Structure of the Exam

The candidate merit list will be prepared only based on the entrance test marks. The candidate should have completed higher secondary exam with minimum 60% marks in PCM subjects. The entrance test questions are from physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects. Each subject will get 40 questions as well each question has four options. The candidate has to select the right answer. This test covers the 12th standard syllabus physics, chemistry and mathematics subject.

Syllabus of the Exam

The maths subject covers theory of equation, matrices and determinants, sequence and series, vector algebra, complex numbers, trigonometry, differential calculus, analytical geometry, etc. The physics subject covers current electricity, electrostatics, electromagnetic induction and alternate current, Electromagnetic waves and wave optics, Communication system, Atomic physics, Nuclear physics, etc.

The chemistry subject covers electro Chemistry, thermodynamics, coordination Chemistry, solid states, d and f block elements, carbonyl compounds, organic nitrogen compounds, alcohols and ethers, etc. The candidate can refer their text books and school notes. They should study all three subjects thoroughly. They should complete their preparation within particular time. So that, they will get more time for revision and write mock tests. There are many guide books consist of model question paper. The candidate should practice model question papers and mock test. This will improve their preparation level as well they will rectify their mistakes. The candidate can search the previous year question paper in online. Moreover, they can practice these papers too.
