The IGNOU Master in English Aspects of Language Paper is a 100 marks paper. It is a three hour paper. There are five questions to be answered in all in the paper. There are a number of internal choices provided to give the examinee more freedom of choice while answering the various questions. All the questions in the paper are from the syllabus itself. There are a number of questions related to phonetics, semantics and syntax. You need to answer each question citing the relevant examples and studies wherever possible. Make sure that each answer has a proper introduction, a middle paragraph and a conclusion.

Each question carries a weight of 20 marks. There are a lot of question papers available on the net to give you an idea of the kind of questions asked in the paper. You need to go through them thoroughly in order to be able to successfully crack this exam. Moreover, make sure you ask the seniors how they themselves wrote the papers to learn the tips and tricks to get a good score. It is an interesting paper if you have done adequate research and studying on the same.
